Youths ready to mount (slab XLII), from the north frieze of the Parthenon, Greek, c438-432 BC. Designed by Phidias, the Parthenon frieze adorned the the temple of Athena on the Acropolis in Athens and represents a procession in honour of the Olympian gods. The majority of what survives of the frieze is today in either the British Museum or the Acropolis Museum in Athens. From the British Museum, London.
