Shin-chan for Switch Free Due to a Bug in the Nintendo eShop

In the last few hours, a tutorial has circulated on Twitter with which it was possible to pre-purchase the new Shin-chan for Switch Free in its digital version. The trick, which has had hundreds of people confirming that it worked, has allowed this game to be obtained totally free in its pre-purchase process before its launch on August 11.

Shin-chan for Switch Free Due to a Bug in the Nintendo eShop

The bug, which has already been fixed, was discovered in the Nintendo Colombia eShop. Players only had to change the region of the profile and access the store of this country to be able to purchase Shin-chan: Me and the Professor on Summer Vacation – The Endless Seven-Day Journey game without paying anything.

However, it was not that simple. The process involved using 4 Nintendo Gold Coins to exchange for the digital download of the game. These coins can be obtained by redeeming the codes that are obtained by purchasing Nintendo Switch games. Even so, was as simple as redeem a game in the Colombian eShop to have the gold coins necessary to exchange them for the game.

At the same time, in the Chile Nintendo eShop, the same Shin-chan game appeared with a price of only a few pesos, which is equivalent to a few dollars. This other bug has also been exploited by a large number of players, especially by those who did not have the opportunity to put gold coins in their Colombian eShop account.

For now, neither Nintendo nor the game’s developer, Millennium Kitchen, nor its publisher, Neos, have commented on the matter. What has been seen on social networks has been great support for the team responsible for the game with comments against the use of these bugs in the Nintendo eShop. After all, it is a serious hit to the creators of the game and could have very negative consequences in the future of the franchise.

Although it is still necessary to know Nintendo’s point of view regarding what happened, it remains to be seen what will happen in the future. The pre-sales could be canceled if the contracts and the small print give legal support to Nintendo. It could also be that the games remain on the users’ consoles and that it is Nintendo who bears the costs of their sale, which would not affect the developers or their publisher. But there is a lot of uncertainty and, at the moment, it is difficult to know what the outcome will be.

Shin-chan: Me and the Professor on Summer Vacation is a delightful adventure game that has created a lot of buzz and adds another chance to the famous anime franchise. In Japan it went on sale more than a year ago, reaching a score of 32 out of 40 in Famitsu and standing out, above all, for its purely 2D aesthetics, as well as for its casual style. For its launch outside of Japan, it has ceased to be exclusive to Nintendo Switch and is also coming to PC and PlayStation 4.

Recently, users got some bad news when it was announced that the physical version of the game will be exclusive to Limited Run Games. To this has now been added the eShop bug, which has made the Shin-chan: Me and the Professor on Summer Vacation team have a terrible last few hours. The Shin-chan fan community hopes that the problems will soon be forgotten and all players can enjoy one of the most anticipated anime adventures of the year.

Shin-chan games have never had an easy time appearing outside of Japan. In the past, for example, the only country that had some of the games from this anime was Spain, since no other market had a big interest in it. These days, Shin-chan is much more famous in the whole world, but these kinds of problems don’t help to the future of the franchise.
